Finding a good match
In order for therapeutic work to take place you need to feel comfortable enough when talking with your counsellor.
Here is a little information about my values within my therapeutic work, to help you to decide if we could be a good match.
I am passionate about all of my therapeutic work, especially about increasing self-awareness around our needs ~ we can become so busy and distracted in our everyday lives that we don't always recognise that we even have needs.
Through both my own difficult life experiences, and through helping others, I've come to greatly appreciate the value of self-care ~ self-care will mean different things to different people.
We can often feel an inner-conflict around giving ourselves permission to look after ourselves ~ the many blocks to this can be complex.
Are you the one who is always there for everyone else?
I value self-compassion as a powerful resource ~ if we have not been taught how to be self-compassionate, we will naturally struggle with this...this is not our fault.
I value personal empowerment and consciously granting ourselves permission to live the best life that we can ~ we often withold this permission from ourselves without realising.
I value being able to trust our own truth and connect to a sense of personal meaning and purpose ~ it's often the little, seemingly inconsequential things that make all the difference .
I believe that our experiences can change us, but they do not define who we are.
These values strongly inform my professional practice and consequently what I am able to share with you through my therapeutic work.
