A chance for you to be heard...

I appreciate that it can take courage to come and share your experiences so my aim is to make the process as rewarding as possible for you.

Sessions are held in my dedicated counselling room which has been described by my clients as 'welcoming' and 'calm'.

Counselling can range from a short, solution-focused piece of work to longer-term psychotherapy.

How we work together is dependent upon your needs and we can talk about what may suit you best during our initial consultation.

Some of the positive changes that my clients have benefitted from include;

  • Better understanding and self-awareness
  • Greater clarity and a sense of feeling 'back in control' of oneself
  • Greater ability to make decisions
  • Decreased feelings of anxiety, shame, guilt
  • Improved relationships
  • A sense of purpose and empowerment

Please see my 'Testimonials' page for further comments by clients

Initial consultation

  • I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to help us decide together if counselling with me maybe helpful for you.
  • A face-to-face consultation will then allow us to explore what is happening for you in a little more detail, consider your background history and establish an initial focus for our work together.

Counselling Fees

Fees can often vary between counsellors and this can be due to a number of factors, including;

Qualifications and experience, Registration &  Accreditation status, additional post-qualifying specialisms, location, length of session (a standard  therapeutic hour is 50 minutes).

  • My session fee is £50 per full hour
  • Sessions before midday are currently being offered at the discounted rate of £45 per full hour
  • Through  my work with IAPT, I appreciate that the counselling waiting list with  the NHS can be very lengthy. With this in mind, I offer a limited number  of reduced fee sessions in my practice - please feel free to ask
  • If you have private health insurance and wish to see me through  this cover, please consult with your insurance company in the first  instance
  • If you are an employer, or represent an agency seeking counselling  for staff or service users, please contact me to discuss terms and fee

  • Sessions are by appointment only
  • Most clients attend sessions weekly in order for counselling to be most effective
  • A commitment to regular attendance is needed in order for therapy to progress

It is important that you feel able to talk openly in order to gain maximum benefit from sessions.

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and I will discuss confidentiality in full with you during our initial consultation.

* Please see my 'FAQ' page for further information about confidentiality.
