Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions I'm most often asked before a first conversation. If something you're wondering isn't here, you're welcome to get in touch directly — there's no such thing as the wrong question.

I offer online, specialist relational trauma therapy, using extended 90-minute sessions and focused intensives. This format allows for deeper, more contained work without feeling rushed..

I use Brainspotting and parts-informed approaches, often integrated together. My work is gentle, body-mind focused, and personalised to each individual. It’s designed to help you process relational trauma, betrayal, emotional neglect, grief, or patterns that no longer serve you.

I primarily support women, as many of the relational trauma patterns I specialise in show up strongly in women's experiences, however, I welcome clients of all genders.

Relational trauma and childhood wounds often live not just in thoughts, but in the nervous system and body. Meaningful processing takes time.

Shorter sessions can sometimes feel rushed - especially when working with trauma bonds, attachment patterns, or deeply held shame.

A 90-minute session allows us to settle your nervous system, explore patterns safely, and integrate what emerges without abruptly stopping at a crucial moment.

Intensives offer even more space. They create the depth and continuity needed to work through entrenched relational patterns in a focused, structured way - without stretching the process over many months.

This approach is designed to feel steady, contained, and purposeful rather than hurried.

That’s completely natural, you don’t need to have it all figured out. The first step is a free 20-minute Clarity Call, where we’ll explore what’s been happening for you and whether an intensive feels like the right support.

If it feels aligned, we’ll book a 90-minute initial consultation to map your needs and create a personalised plan.

If an intensive doesn't feel right for you, ongoing 90-minute sessions may be a more fitting option.

Your enquiry is welcome, even if you’re unsure.

Intensives are longer, focused sessions (typically 2 × 3 hours + follow-up) that allow for deeper, uninterrupted processing. They’re personalised to your needs and often bring faster clarity and relief than weekly sessions alone.

Weekly therapy is great for ongoing support, but an intensive is designed for concentrated, embodied work that helps you move through stuck patterns more quickly.

Yes, all therapy and intensives are delivered online. The online format allows for privacy, comfort, and access from anywhere. Many people find online work just as effective, especially for intensive sessions where the nervous system needs a safe, familiar space.

After an intensive, your nervous system and mind continue to process the work. That’s why each intensive includes a 90-minute follow-up session to integrate insights, stabilise your system, and explore next steps. Some people choose further 90-minute sessions afterwards, depending on their needs.

It’s natural to be unsure. Whether you’re considering weekly therapy, an intensive, or a mix, the best way to know is a Clarity Call. We’ll explore your experience together, and I’ll guide you towards the approach that will feel most supportive for you.

Relational trauma develops through repeated experiences in relationships — often close, important ones — where safety, emotional attunement, or trust were consistently missing or actively undermined.

Unlike single-event trauma, relational trauma tends to form slowly. It can come from childhood — a parent who was emotionally unavailable, unpredictable, or harmful — or from adult relationships involving manipulation, coercive control, betrayal, or emotional abuse.

Because it forms within relationship, relational trauma often affects the way we experience ourselves in relationships: the self-doubt, the hypervigilance, the difficulty trusting, the sense of never quite feeling safe or enough. These aren't personality flaws. They're intelligent adaptations to environments where safety wasn't reliable.

The good news is that because relational trauma develops within relationship, it also heals most effectively within an attuned, safe therapeutic relationship — which is exactly what this work is designed to offer.

That's one of the most important questions you can ask — and it's one I hear often.

Most previous therapy will have worked primarily through conversation and insight. That has real value. But for relational trauma, insight alone often isn't enough. The patterns you're trying to shift aren't only stored in thought — they live in the nervous system, in the body, and in the parts of you that learned to survive.

Brainspotting, integrated with parts-informed work, is specifically designed to work at that deeper level. Many of my clients come to me after years of talk-based therapy that helped them understand their experience but didn't fully release it. That gap — between understanding and actually feeling different — is exactly what this approach is designed to close.

No. You don't need a label, a diagnosis, or certainty that what you experienced "counts."

Trauma isn't defined by what happened — it's defined by how it lives in you now. If something from your past is still affecting how you feel in your body, how you relate to others, or how you experience yourself day to day, that matters — regardless of what it's called.

You don't need to arrive with a clear story. You just need a sense that something needs to shift.
