Brainspotting - anxiety, trauma, narcissistic abuse

What is brainspotting?

Evolved out of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing ) and rooted in somatic therapy practices, Brainspotting is a gentle but powerful therapy that helps you work through the things that feel “stuck” - the patterns, memories, or emotions that talking alone can’t seem to shift.


It works by using your natural eye positions to locate “brainspots,” which are points in your visual field, directly connected to where unprocessed experiences are held in the brain and body. With mindful, focused attention, your brain and body are able to process and release what has been weighing you down.


Optional bi-lateral music can be played through earphones to enhance your processing experience.


The beauty of Brainspotting is that you don’t need to retell your whole story or relive painful memories for healing to happen. Instead, we create a safe, supportive space for your brain’s natural ability to heal itself. Many people find that this approach allows them to go deeper than traditional talk therapy, while still feeling grounded and supported.

You don’t need the perfect words to begin healing. This therapy can create profound shifts, bringing relief, clarity, and a sense of freedom. Whether through weekly sessions or an intensive format, Brainspotting offers a path to real and lasting change.

Everyone's experience of Brainspotting will be unique to them and so results will vary for each individual. As with other forms of therapy, individuals may experience heightened emotions at times, and processing will continue after each session. If you choose to listen to bilateral music during or after sessions, please check with your medical provider if this could be an issue with any medical conditions you have.


Sessions are not suitable for individuals experiencing acute distress as I do not offer a crisis service.
