Healing after betrayal or relationship wounds

Sharon Nicholson, online trauma therapist UK

Brainspotting - anxiety, trauma, narcissistic abuse

Relational trauma intensive using brainspotting & parts-informed therapy

Some trauma is not about a single event.

It’s about what happened in relationship, over time:

  • Betrayal

  • Emotional manipulation

  • Gaslighting

  • Loss of trust in others, and eventually in yourself

If you’ve experienced betrayal, narcissistic abuse, or other relational trauma, you may feel stuck, like no matter what you do, you can’t fully let go of the pain, rebuild trust, or feel safe in yourself.

These experiences can leave patterns, blocks, and tension in the body and mind that are hard to shift in weekly sessions alone.

A therapy intensive offers a concentrated space to work through what’s been held for years, allowing your nervous system and emotional parts to process safely and deeply.

Using Brainspotting and parts-informed approaches, we work with what is ready to be released while supporting what wants to come online next, helping you reconnect with your authentic self and move toward clarity, confidence, and alignment in your life.

Who is this intensive for?

This intensive is particularly suited to people who:

  • Have experienced betrayal in intimate, family, or long-term relationships

  • Are recovering from narcissistic or emotionally abusive dynamics

  • Feel “stuck” despite insight or previous therapy

  • Notice patterns such as self-doubt, freezing, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection

  • Are ready for deeper, embodied processing rather than talking alone

You don’t need to have the “right words” for what happened. Your nervous system already knows.

When weekly therapy may be more supportive

Weekly sessions may be a better fit if you:

  • Become significantly destabilised for several days after emotional work

  • Struggle to stay grounded when trauma is activated

  • Are currently in ongoing crisis or unsafe relational situations

  • Experience frequent dissociation without awareness or containment

There is no failure in choosing slower work.

This is about meeting your nervous system where it is.

Why an intensive?

Weekly therapy offers steadiness and ongoing support.

An intensive offers:

  • Uninterrupted processing time

  • Momentum rather than fragmentation

  • The ability to work through layers that often take months in weekly sessions

  • A clear container with preparation and integration built in

This can be particularly powerful for relational trauma, where patterns were formed over time and in relationship.

Take the next step

How the intensive works

your deeper healing

Brainspotting - anxiety, trauma, narcissistic abuse

The intensive is delivered online via Zoom, over two days (3 hours each day), with a 90-minute follow-up session 1–2 weeks later to integrate what emerges.

Bilateral music may be used through headphones to support the process, though this is optional and always guided by your pace.

This format is not for everyone, it is best suited to clients who are ready to go deeper than weekly sessions, have some emotional resources in place, and want a structured, focused way to shift stuck patterns.

During our initial consultation, we’ll explore if this intensive is right for you and how it might complement ongoing therapy.

What you can take away

By the end of the intensive, clients often notice:

  • Feeling lighter, freer, or more settled in their body

  • Greater clarity about old patterns and how to break them

  • Increased alignment with who they truly are and who they want to become

  • Tools to manage triggers, overwhelm, and relational challenges

  • A sense of confidence, of being more grounded, and possibility for the future
