When something frightening or overwhelming happens, your body takes over. It protects you first…and processes later. Sometimes, the memory becomes “stuck”- locked in the emotional part of the brain and replaying through:

Rewind Therapy (RT) helps that memory finally move out of the present and into the past - without making you relive the trauma.
Rewind is a gentle, trauma-focused method that allows the brain to reprocess a distressing memory quickly and safely.
It works by guiding you into a calm state where the memory can be revisited from a distance -without overwhelm, without emotional flooding, and without needing to talk through every detail.
Rewind is especially effective for single-event trauma, such as:
If there is one clear event your system keeps looping, Rewind can often bring rapid relief.
Trauma becomes “stuck” when a memory is stored with the original panic or fear still attached.
Rewind helps your brain:
The goal isn’t to erase what happened - it’s to release the fear, tension, and reactivity attached to it.
After Rewind, people often say the memory feels “neutral,” “distant,” or “like a faded photograph,” without the physical jolt or intense feelings.
While Rewind is powerful and effective for single, clearly defined traumatic events, Brainspotting remains the primary modality I use, and is often the deeper, more comprehensive approach.
Brainspotting may be more appropriate when:
Brainspotting reaches the places inside of you that talking, logic, or insight simply can’t touch.
It supports integration, emotional release, nervous system regulation, and the reconnection with parts of yourself that learned to hide to stay safe.

Sometimes, we begin with Rewind to settle the nervous system, and then move into Brainspotting to address deeper layers when you're ready.
