A focused, compassionate space to reconnect with yourself

Sharon Nicholson, online trauma therapist UK

Brainspotting - anxiety, trauma, narcissistic abuse

trauma recovery intensives

Some experiences leave more than memories. They leave a nervous system that never fully relaxed, a sense of self that feels fractured, and patterns that replay silently in your daily life.

Sometimes weekly therapy isn’t enough. When the relational past, betrayal, or manipulation keeps shaping how you feel, a longer, focused container allows your nervous system, mind, and heart to process what shorter sessions can’t.

My online therapy intensives are personalised to you, giving you space to slow down, go deeper, and start reconnecting with clarity, safety, and your authentic self.

Which intensive are you drawn to?

You don’t need perfect words for what you’ve been through, just a safe, guided space to process it. Everyone’s experience is unique, and it’s normal to resonate with more than one intensive, the right path will be guided during your clarity call.

Many people will find their experiences fit into more than one of these intensives, and that’s understandable.

Every intensive is fully personalised to your experience.

What makes a therapy intensive different

Intensives provide depth and continuity of nervous-system-led processing that weekly therapy can’t.

All intensives are personalised:

  • We meet online for 3-hour sessions over 2 or 3 days, and then we have a 90-minute follow-up integration session approx 1-2 weeks later.

  • We work at your pace, nothing is forced and everything is trauma-informed.

Why intensives can be so effective

Intensives offer you:

  • uninterrupted focus for deeper processing
  • personalised work tailored to your experience
  • nervous system regulation & embodied healing
  • momentum that allows patterns to shift
  • clarity, relief, and internal safety

My approach

  • Brainspotting - to access and release patterns held deep in the nervous system and expand desired states of being

  • Parts-informed therapy - to understand and support the internal voices and survival strategies that formed in response to relational trauma

  • Trauma-informed, somatic relational techniques - to gently regulate the nervous system and support integration

The work is deep and carefully attuned to your pace,  designed to restore self-trust rather than create dependency.

Who an intensive is designed for

When an intensive may not be the right fit

When an intensive may not be the right fit

An intensive may be right for you if:

  • You have been significantly affected by a relationship involving manipulation, betrayal, or prolonged relational harm

  • You feel caught in cycles of rumination, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm

  • You carry shame or guilt about how you survived or adapted

  • You notice your body remains tense, alert, or exhausted

  • You are highly motivated for change and feel ready to work at depth, with focus and continuity

  • You can stay present with strong emotions without becoming overwhelmed

  • You have grounding resources and some support available after the intensive

If you resonate with this, and your life circumstances allow you to prioritise your healing, a therapy intensive may be the right step.

When an intensive may not be the right fit

When an intensive may not be the right fit

When an intensive may not be the right fit

Intensives are not suitable for everyone, and that matters.

Weekly therapy may be a better option if you:

  • Feel easily overwhelmed or struggle to regulate emotions

  • Experience frequent dissociation without awareness or containment

  • Are currently in crisis or unsafe relational situations

  • Are early in trauma processing or new to therapy

  • Do not have support or stability following an intensive

There is no “better” or “worse” choice here. Slower, steadier work is often exactly what a nervous system needs.

Why this work matters

Engaging in a therapy intensive can create shifts that ripple far beyond the sessions themselves.

Clients often notice:

  • A sense of internal stability that allows clearer decision-making and more presence in daily life

  • Greater self-trust and confidence in boundaries and relationships

  • Reduced rumination and emotional reactivity, with more ease in thinking and feeling

  • Integration of internal parts and reconciliation of conflicting emotions, leading to more coherence and inner peace

  • Embodied release of trauma patterns, allowing the body and nervous system to finally catch up with what the mind already knows

This work is not about quick fixes, but about creating real, lasting, embodied change that supports your autonomy, resilience, and wellbeing.
